Hoffman Estates teen charged with sexual assault

A 17-year-old Hoffman Estates boy was ordered held on $150,000 bond Tuesday after molesting a 2-year-old relative, authorities said.

Darwin Ramirez, of 20 Westview St., is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault. Prosecutors said he admitted to police that he'd molested the girl, after being caught by another relative Sunday.

Ramirez is a citizen of Honduras, prosecutors said, and it's unknown whether he has a criminal background there. He'd just recently arrived in the United States and had been staying at the Hoffman Estates home with relatives, prosecutors said.

He's set to be back in court in Rolling Meadows on Jan. 11.
