Kings top slumping Nets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- John Salmons scored a career-high 31 points and passed to teammate Francisco Garcia for a decisive 3-pointer to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 106-101 victory over the slumping New Jersey Nets on Tuesday night.

Brad Miller added 23 points and Ron Artest had 20 for the Kings, who got their second road win of the season. Their first came last Friday at Philadelphia.

New Jersey, which has lost six of its last seven games and eight of its last 10 at home, was led by Richard Jefferson's 36 points. Vince Carter scored 15 points and rookie Sean Williams had 8 blocked shots, tying a team record set in 1981 by Mike Gminski.
