Kane Co. health dept. issues warning over bad beans

New Era Canning Company in Michigan is recalling cans of green beans possibly contaminated with botulism.

GFS Fancy Blue Lake cut green beans, distributed in Illinois and 10 other states, were being voluntarily recalled, the Kane County Health Department reported Saturday. The tainted cans were sold through GFS Marketplace stores in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.

The potential contamination of the product was found through testing by the Food and Drug Administration.
