What happened to our freedoms?

I thoroughly agree with Penny Wilson's article in the Fence Post. I'm 80 years old, and every day I see a new law taking away our legal rights. Oh, for the good old days during the Depression and World War II. We were freer and happier. What happened to the land of the free?
