Taxes should go for safer roads, bridges
Federal road tax funds should not be cut back. These are needed to fund the maintenance of 75,000 United States bridges and infrastructures. Failure to do so could result in bridge failures such as the 1-35 bridge collapse incident in Minnesota.
Being an avid motorcyclist, I know first hand the urgent need to repair potholes and cracks that cause loss of control. Cars that sit lower to the ground suffer from uneven road surfaces that cause costly repair bills.
Many of these problems and deaths could be avoided if road repair funds and taxes were used to keep our roads in proper condition. Our tax money should be used to keep us safe, not entertained.
