Donate winter coats to those in need
As the cold winter sets in, state Rep. Ruth Munson, an Elgin Republican, urges the community to donate their new or gently used coats to those less fortunate.
In cooperation with the city of Elgin and the villages of Carpentersville and East Dundee, Munson will be collecting winter coats for those in need. The coat drive will run through Dec. 14.
Winter coats for adults and children can be dropped off at the specially marked boxes at the following locations: Munson's district office at 1146 Dundee Ave. in Elgin; Elgin city hall, 150 Dexter Court; the Carpentersville village hall, 1200 L.W. Besinger Drive; or the Dundee Township Park District Senior Center, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville.
All coats will be donated to the Community Crisis Center and the Public Action to Deliver Shelter program. Munson asks that all donated clothing be in good, wearable condition.
