A poem: Local stores good place to finish your shopping
'Twas the weekend before Christmas and throughout Arlington Heights,
All the merchants were opening with joy and delight.
With dreams of huge crowds of residents and friends,
They hoped to make quota before the weekend ends.
As they unlocked their doors and turned on the lights,
They were startled and shocked at such a wonderful sight.
There standing in line, outside waiting in their spaces,
Were so many familiar Arlington Heights faces.
It was Mulder, Kucera, Rosenberg and Jensen,
Perkins and Carey and even Bill Dixon.
Stengren and Farwell, and John Scaletta,
Who was out looking for the perfect poinsettia
There was Norm Breyer along with Tom Hayes,
Who both know the importance of the sales tax raised.
They all knew the truth, they all knew the reason
To shop locally is crucial during this holiday season.
So take up your lists, call up your friends,
Visit our local shops before the weekend ends.
May your shopping be fun and filled with delight
Merry Christmas to you and to all a good night.
The Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce wishes you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
