Illini's Pruitt co-Big Ten player of week
CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois center Shaun Pruitt is the co-Big Ten player of the week after averaging double figures for points and rebounds over three games last week.
Pruitt, a senior, averaged just over 16 points and 10 rebounds in wins over Missouri and Western Carolina and a loss to Miami (Ohio).
He shares the honor with Minnesota's Dan Coleman.
Pruitt is Illinois' leading scorer at 13.2 points per game. He's also the team's leading rebounder with an 8.4 average.
No Illinois player has been the conference player of the week since 2005.
Illinois is 7-4 after the win Saturday over Missouri. The Illini host Loyola on Friday.
Earlier Monday, the Big Ten named Illini forward Jenna Smith the women's player of the week.
