Algonquin OK's industrial center

Algonquin trustees on Tuesday signed off on the addition of a large-scale industrial building for the Algonquin Corporate Campus industrial park.

Village Manager William Ganek says this marks the third building on the site, located at the southwest corner of Randall and County Line roads.

The building's landlord, Rothbart Realty Co., has not yet been secured for the 28,680 square-foot building.

Yet its approval comes on the heels of a labor force analysis and cost comparison study conducted by Nortillo and Associates.

The study, released in November, concluded that the labor force in McHenry and Northern Kane counties is not only growing, but also is of high quality and possesses highly skilled manufacturing workers.

The study also showed it's cheaper to move an information technology call center to its corporate campus, rather than to neighboring towns, including Crystal Lake, Elgin and Chicago.
