Register for District 96 kindergarten

Parents and guardians living within School District 96 may pick up kindergarten registration packets weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. Jan. 7 to 16 at the Willow Grove Kindergarten and Early Childhood Center, 777 Checker Drive, Buffalo Grove.

The incoming kindergartner's original birth certificate and proof of residency are required to obtain a packet. To attend kindergarten in the 2008-09 school year, a child must be 5-years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2008.

Registration for incoming kindergartners will be taken from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 17 at Willow Grove Kindergarten Center. For details, visit www.district96.k12.il.us and click on kindergarten registration or call (847) 541-3660.

Nominate for foundation awards

District 96 Foundation presents awards annually to individuals in district schools and the community who demonstrate outstanding commitment to helping children grow.

To nominate a worthy individual or group for a foundation award, go to www.district96.k12.il.us and click on community news. Print and complete the nomination form and return it to the public information coordinator, 1050 Ivy Hall Lane, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. Forms must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. Friday. The foundation will present the awards at a celebration dinner on Feb. 15 at the Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove.
