Worker accused of stealing scrap metal from company

A DeKalb man was accused Wednesday of stealing scrap metal from his Carpentersville employer and selling it.

Eric Christopher Clark of 1110 Varsity Blvd., DeKalb, was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of theft, police said.

Since Sept. 1, Clark has repeatedly sneaked into his workplace, Meyer Metal Systems Inc., after hours and taken scrap metal, police said.

Clark took a total of 316 pounds of scrap metal, which he sold to DeKalb Iron and Metal for $647, police said.

Clark was held in the Kane County jail on $3,500 bond with a Nov. 29 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
