Fire guts Carpentersville home

Carpentersville firefighters Thursday were investigating the cause of a fire that gutted a house on the village's east side.

The blaze was reported at 10:26 a.m. at the home at 9 Meadowlark Lane, which was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, according to the Carpentersville Fire Department.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, which reduced the home to a total loss, the department said in a statement.

West Dundee, East Dundee and Rutland firefighters also responded to the blaze. No injuries were reported.
