Libertyville tax levy
The owner of a $300,000 home in Libertyville will pay an estimated $11 more for the village's share on the next property tax bill. The village board will consider an ordinance adopting the levy at it Dec. 11 meeting. The village anticipates receiving about $5.1 million in property tax revenue, up 4 percent from the amount received from the 2006 levy. The actual tax rate is expected to drop by a penny, but assessed valuations, which are used to determine the tax amount, are expected to increase by 5 percent. The village's portion of a typical tax bill is about 7 percent. School districts 70 and 128 account for about three-quarters of the total bill.
