Jordan Eglseder scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Northern Iowa to a 75-45 win Friday over Northern Illinois in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The 7-foot-1 sophomore center dominated the post in his first collegiate start, helping the Panthers (1-0) outrebound Northern Illinois 48-30 and hold the Huskies to 33 percent shooting.
Michael Patton and Ryan Paradise each scored 7 points to lead Northern Illinois (0-1), which trailed 40-18 at half.
Michigan 82, Radford 55: DeShawn Sims scored 23 points to help host Michigan beat Radford in its season-opener. The win marked a successful debut for coach John Beilein, who took over at Michigan this season after compiling a 104-60 record in five seasons at West Virginia.

Duke 121, N.C. Central 56: Freshman Taylor King scored 20 points while fellow rookie Kyle Singler added 15 to lead 13th-ranked Duke past visiting North Carolina Central, the Blue Devils' eighth straight season-opening victory.
Nolan Smith, a third freshman, added 16 points for the Blue Devils, who led 26-5 in the opening 7½ minutes.
Texas A&M 73, McNeese St. 50: Freshman DeAndre Jordan scored 12 points and Josh Carter had 14 to lead 16th-ranked Texas A&M to a victory over McNeese State for its eighth straight win in a home opener.

Arkansas 67, Wofford 45: Patrick Beverley found his shooting touch in the second half, making two 3-pointers that helped No. 19 Arkansas pull away for a victory over visiting Wofford in John Pelphrey's first game as Razorbacks coach.
The Razorbacks led 30-26 at halftime despite going scoreless for the game's first five minutes.
Pitt. 103, Houston Baptist 62: Sam Young and DeJuan Blair overwhelmed former NAIA power Houston Baptist from the start with a quick and decisive burst of fast-break dunking and rebounding, and No. 22 Pittsburgh cruised to a season-opening victory.
Pitt opened up leads of 13-0 and 30-10 in the first half.
Stanford 111, Harvard 56: Drew Shiller scored 18 points, and No. 23 Stanford beat Harvard in the Basketball Travelers Classic in Stanford, Calif.
