Window Wonderland gets under way in downtown Elgin

The Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin invites individuals, organizations, businesses and families to sign up to decorate a window or organize an activity for downtown Elgin's ninth annual Window Wonderland event. The holiday season will kick off with this event from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 1.

This year's window theme is "Holidays from the Past, Present and Future." In addition to decorations, the window also may include live activities like music, skits, or dancing. Decorating takes place Monday through Nov. 30. The windows will be judged by a panel of judges on Dec. 1 on creativity and appeal. The public can cast their vote for their favorite windows at various locations around downtown Elgin Dec. 1-31. Winners will be notified in early January.
