Kane hires new animal control administrator
An experienced health care professional is Kane County's new animal control administrator.
Mary Lawrie of St. Charles began her new job Nov. 19 and was introduced Tuesday at the Kane County Board's public health committee meeting.
"As Kane County continues to grow, the animal control department will be facing new challenges," committee chairman Gerry Jones said. "Mary brings a wealth of management and leadership skills to the table with which to deal with those challenges."
Lawrie, who will earn $90,000 annually, comes to Kane County from United Surgical Partners Inc. in Chicago, where she was regional business office manager for the past two years. Her prior experience includes serving as practice manager for Partner's in Women's Health P.C. and program director for Curative Health Services.
She earned an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a master's degree in microbiology from the Chicago Medical School and a bachelor's degree in medical technology from UIC.
Former interim animal control administrator Pat Sikorski is working in a different area of the health department.
