Correction

An editor's mistake created two errors in the Sunday letter by Shirley Sadjadi of Elgin. It should have read that under the Dream Act, "a student who qualifies would receive conditional residence for six years." And under the Immigration & Nationality Act of 1997, "parents who entered the country without permission more than one year before such application and remained here" … would have to "depart the U.S. and wait 10 years before returning."
