Veterans honored in Buffalo Grove

The Buffalo Grove Park District will honor all veterans, their families and friends, with entertainment and free refreshments from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. and a program from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Grove High School, 1100 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove. The program will include the U.S. Navy Band; presentation of colors by Marine Air Control Group 48; remarks by Stan Nathanson, Post Commander of VFW Post 235; a speech by U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk; keynote speech by Medal of Honor recipient Allen Lynch; a Service Flag Ceremony by Champion Eagles Color Guard Post 208 American Legion Arlington Heights; and more. At 3:30 p.m., immediately following the program, the newly designed Veterans Memorial at Veterans Park will be dedicated. Veterans Park is at 1300 N. Weiland Road in Buffalo Grove.
