Car punches hole in house
A Rolling Meadows house was left uninhabitable after a car driven by a 18-year-old man crashed through the side of it and into a bathroom early Friday, police said.
Police said Juan Luis Guillen of 4503 Linden Lane, Rolling Meadows, had a blood alcohol level of .097 when he drove his vehicle into the house with such force that it pushed a bathtub into the hallway and collapsed a wall, police said.
Police responded to the house near Wren Lane and Fulle Street around 1:16 a.m. Friday. One wall between the bathroom and a neighboring bedroom collapsed, sending falling debris onto a resident who was in bed at the time, police said. No one was seriously injured in the crash, police said.
Guillen was charged with driving under the influence, blood alcohol content over .08 and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said. He was released on bond and is due in court on Dec. 6.
