Reagan right: Low tax raises revenue
James R. Schaefer of Mount Prospect feels those Democrats are "on to something" with the concept of taxing "the rich" and corporations.
Sorry, Ronald Reagan proved, that when you lower the tax rate, you increase the amount of tax revenue.
Assuming that tax revenue is the goal instead of appearing to punish those who "were lucky," lowering the tax rate is the answer. Also assuming you don't want to actually cut what you are spending.
Oh, I can hear it now: Reagan had the largest deficit during his presidency. That would be your Democratic Congress that fought President Reagan with particular vigor.
Tax revenues increased to historic highs; it's just that the Congress outspent the increases. The liberal attacks are nothing more than cheap class warfare and does not serve America.
Democrats are not offering anything new, just trying to get those who feel they are eternally owed something to reach into the pockets of others and take what they want.
We have lost our spirit to succeed in this country due to pandering to lowest instead of honoring the best.
I am sick of Clinton, O'Donnell, Edwards, Robbins, Obermann, and the rest of the whining group. If Warren Buffett wants to give his billions to the government, he can. Notice he didn't.
