Yoga center to hold workshops

The following workshops will be held at the Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center, 109 W. Slade St., Palatine.

"Goal Setting in Five Steps" will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Psychologist Jeff Wieneke will show how to improve your life by developing and sticking with goals. Explore goal setting, hidden agendas for failure and overcoming obstacles. Admission is $25.

"The Path of Fire and Light" will take place from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 17. Gary Gran, RYT, D.Ay., a yoga teacher, co-director of the Evanston School of Yoga, and an ayurvedic practitioner, will explain advanced yoga practice as described by Swami Rama in his book, "The Path of Fire and Light."

Gran will introduce a step-by-step systematic practice of meditation. This workshop is appropriate for beginning and advanced students. Admission is $35.
