Hawthorn Woods'finance director resigns
Hawthorn Woods' village finance director resigned last week to take a position nearer her family, she said.
Finance Director Nancy Caine said she will start her new job as accounting supervisor for the village of River Forest on Nov. 26.
Caine said family members live in Oak Park and she has been looking for a job nearer to them for some time.
"Hawthorn Woods has been a wonderful experience," Caine said, calling her work in the village both "rewarding" and "challenging."
"I have made what I hope are lasting friendships," she said.
Trustee Steve Riess said Caine will be missed.
"I would say (Caine) is one of the best people that Hawthorn Woods ever had and her departure will be truly felt by the village," he said. "I've always admired her high standards and ethics and her openness."
Caine is the third upper-level village employee to resign this year.
Public works Director Dan Marcinko and Village Administrator Jim Krischke both left for other positions.
None have been replaced yet, but Mayor Keith Hunt has said a search is under way for Krischke's replacement.
