'Nunsense': The Grove Players will present the musical comedy "Nunsense" through Nov. 18 at Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave., Downers Grove. 'Showtune': The Village Theatre Guild of Glen Ellyn will present "Showtune: Celebrating the Words and Music of Jerry Herman" through Nov. 11 at the guild's theater at Park Boulevard and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. today. The show is a musical revue that celebrates the composer and lyricist for some of Broadway's best-known shows, including "Hello, Dolly!" "Mame" and "La Cage Aux Folles."

Seeking new members: The Village Theatre Guild, Inc. meets at 7:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month at the theater, Park Boulevard and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn.

New members are welcome. The group is seeking both adults who enjoy acting and singing, as well as those who want to work behind-the-scenes with makeup, hair, costumes, props, set construction and design, lighting and sound.

No experience is needed. Each gathering starts with a short business meeting followed by a one-act play or scene by a VTG member.
