Teen pleads guilty in killing of restaurant manager
A 16-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for his role in the 2006 robbery and murder of a restaurant manager.
Moments before the boy was led of Juvenile Court, he told the family of 26-year-old Corey Ebenezer that he was sorry. The boy was sentenced to 5 years in juvenile prison.
Prosecutors allege the June 2006 murder of Ebenezer, the father of two, occurred the day after he fired Erika Ray, who wanted retribution for her dismissal.
Ray allegedly drove 19-year-old Lorenzo Wilson and two others to the restaurant and waited in the car while the others went inside at closing time.
According to Assistant State's Attorney Adam Weber, Wilson pulled a gun on Ebenezer and pointed it at him, then shot him after a struggle. He shot the manager again before leaving.
