Many townhouse styles on display at Deer Park development

A new community of 61 maintenance-free townhouses and 11 single-family homes, Deer Park Estates is situated in a quiet country-inspired setting with landscaping and winding streets.

The community by Red Seal Homes is located in North suburban Deer Park at the corner of Long Grove and Quentin roads.

Deer Park Estates has been a popular community because it combines architecture in an enclave setting with freedom from landscaping, said Todd Fishbein, president and CEO of Red Seal Development Corp.

"Deer Park Estates expands over 14 acres and is adjacent to natural wetlands. A 10-foot-wide bike path winds along two sides of the neighborhood, and a large pond provides tranquil water views from many of the homes," Fishbein said.

Townhouses are constructed in groups of three to four homes with styles that include bayed windows and turrets plus columned and covered entryways.

Each floor plan includes three bedrooms, 2ˆ¨ baths, wooden deck, full basement and two-car attached garage.

Two of the townhouse plans have a first-floor master suite. Other designs feature multisided turrets with dens and master bedroom sitting areas, lofts, two-story entry foyers and center island or peninsula kitchens. English and walkout basements are also available on select sites.

The DP-6 townhouse model, priced from $485,900, has 2,161 square feet, a neutral decor and oak hardware flooring throughout much of the main level.

A covered entryway leads into the two-story foyer that opens to a staircase.

Adjacent to the kitchen and breakfast area, the formal dining room features crown molding, chair rail and a dark wood table for six topped with a floral centerpiece.

A fireplace with slate surround highlights the family room, where a sofa and two chairs provide plenty of seating. A large mirror gives the room a spacious feel.

The family room opens to the kitchen and breakfast area that includes stainless steel appliances, cherry cabinets with a corner glass door and granite countertops. An overhang serves as a breakfast bar, while a pantry provides more storage. A round glass-topped table furnishes the breakfast area that overlooks the 10-by-12-foot rear deck accessed through sliding glass doors.

Upstairs, double doors bring you into the master suite, which features a box bay window, dark wood furnishings and his-and-hers walk-in closets. The private bath has separate vanities, soaking tub and separate walk-in shower with clear glass doors.

Two secondary bedrooms situated in the corners for privacy have access to the hall bath. One room is set up as a guest room and the other is furnished with a daybed, display shelf and desk. A second-floor laundry room adds convenience for homeowners.

The smallest townhouse offered, the DP-3 priced from $450,795, has 1,891 square feet and a layout similar to the DP-6 with a clean, uncluttered look.

The two-story foyer features metal artwork and a table and mirror. Defined by columns, the formal dining room is furnished with a dining table for six topped with a gold runner and candle display.

The living room features a sofa and two mustard-colored chairs, while multicolored draperies and area rug bring color into the room.

The living room is open to the kitchen and breakfast area that includes stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a pantry.

In the breakfast area, a glass-topped table with fabric chairs overlooks the 10-by-12-foot deck accessed through sliding glass doors.

Occupying a whole wing of the home, the master bedroom has a bay window, dark wood furnishings and his-and-her walk-in closets. The private bath has two sinks, soaking tub and separate walk-in shower with clear glass doors.

Two secondary bedrooms include a guest room done in teal and yellow with a contemporary decor and a room outfitted as a den with desk, chair, display shelf and framed world map. There is also a second-floor laundry room.

The other five available floor plans include DP-5 with 2,138 square feet (future phase, not yet priced); DP-7, from $527,900 with 2,245 square feet; DP-8 with 2,501 square feet (future phase, not yet priced); DP-9, from $537,900 with 2,507 square feet; and DP-10 with 2,781 square feet (future phase not yet priced).
