Body of Huntley windsurfer recovered from Wisconsin lake

JEFFERSON, Wis. -- Authorities in Wisconsin plan an autopsy to determine a cause of death for a windsurfer from Huntley found dead overnight.

Sheriff's officials say Jeffrey Meissner, was reported missing last night by a person who said he might be kite surfing on Lake Koshkonong in Jefferson County, Wisconsin.

Authorities found the man's car parked on the lake's north shore, and numerous law enforcement agencies began searching the lake using spotlights and thermal imaging equipment.

A sail and surf board were found about 1:30 a.m. on the southeast side of the lake. Meissner's body was found a short time later.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
