Route 60 shut down in Mundelein

A heavily traveled stretch of Route 60 in Mundelein has been shut down this afternoon so crews can repair a broken water main.

All lanes between Route 45 and Butterfield Road are off-limits to motorists. Drivers must find other routes to get to their destinations.

The repairs began about 2:30 p.m. and are expected to take 8 to 12 hours to complete.
