Dog rescue to hold shopping fundraiser

Our House of Hope K-9 Rescue, in conjunction with K-9 Playtime Inc. in Mundelein, will hold a holiday shopping party from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at K-9 Playtime, 403 Washington St., Unit 1, Mundelein, to benefit the rescue's medical fund.

The evening will offer holiday gift ideas for people and pets, including clothing, jewelry, toys, teas, gift certificates, tableware and home decor accessories. The evening also will feature wine, appetizers, book signings and demonstrations. There will be a donation request of $5 at the door.

Our House of Hope is one of Lake County's newest canine animal rescue organizations. The group is all volunteer-based and a licensed 501 [3] non-profit charitable organization. Its mission is to provide young people with the knowledge and power to become better pet owners, and to provide every animal that passes through its doors with health care, training and emotional well-being prior to adoptive placement.
