Time for silent ones to come forward

As a resident of the newly formed village of Campton Hills, I would like to make the following observations.

The incorporation was approved by a small percentage of the residents entitled to vote. Only a little more than 4,000 of the eligible voters chose to vote on the issue. Therefore, approximately 23 percent of residents have established a new village.

I appeal to the 8,000 eligible voters who did not vote. Now is the time to express your opinion by signing the petition to dissolve the village. There is no question the real estate will increase year after year.

The village will need employee salaries, retirement funds, counsel for legal services and planning for a comprehensive city plan and zoning code just to name a few items.

Public hearings must be held to approve some of the foregoing items. You may sign the petition at 40W330 LaFox Road.
