Fox Valley Philharmonic seeks string musicians

The Fox Valley youth orchestra and ensembles and the Fox Valley adult orchestra are seeking musicians.

The Fox Valley Philharmonic orchestra is seeking string musicians for the 2008 season. Auditions will also be held for the spring term of the Fox Valley Youth Symphony Orchestras and associated ensembles.

Auditions may be scheduled between Nov. 12 and Dec. 31.

The adult community orchestra is about to complete its inaugural season with the performance of "Winter Wundermusik" on Dec. 2 at East Aurora High School.

The spring term for the youth orchestra will begin Jan. 13 and conclude with a concert April 6.

Potential students may audition for positions with the Fox Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Fox Valley Academy Orchestra, Fox Valley Youth Strings or Fox Valley Flutes.

The orchestras and ensembles are under the director of Jason R. Palmer of Batavia. He has organized and directed instrumental and choral ensembles for more than 30 years. Palmer is also director of music for Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora.
