Recital set on new First Congregational organ

On Sunday, an organ recital with guest organist Richard D. Jaeggi of the Wicks Organ Co. will be held at 3 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Dundee, 900 S. Eighth St. (Route 31 and Angle Tarn), West Dundee.

The church's new digital organ is the Wicks Royal Classic. It has three manuals and 56 stops, equivalent to 68 ranks. All of the digital samples on the organ are from Wicks pipe organs. The organ can be expanded to include pipes in the future.

Jaeggi is currently national sales manager for the company, which is based in downstate Highland near St. Louis. He has worked for many musical instrument manufacturers including the former Baldwin Piano and Organ Co.

Jaeggi's concert and musician workshops have taken him up and down the East Coast, through the Midwest, the Bahamas, Jamaica and Australia.

Jaeggi is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, which he attended as a winner of the Strader Organ Competition.

He has held many church music positions throughout the Midwest and southeast United States. His most recent position was music director/organist at Englewood United Methodist Church in Englewood, Fla. where he managed a large musical program which included a 75-voice choir and 25-piece orchestra.

The public is invited to attend this special concert which will provide a wide variety of music for all ages. A reception for everyone will follow the concert.
