No vacation for leaders during war
There is a lot of talk from our government that they will go to extended lengths to support our troops in a time of crisis. I believe a change is needed to actually show this support.
A law should be passed for all elected officials, including the president, vice-president, senators, representatives, etc., that, during a time of war, conflict, crisis or whatever else they would like to call it, they are not allowed to take vacation, leave or otherwise take a break from their work schedule. If our soldiers cannot pick and choose their vacations and schedules, then why should the men and women who put them in harm's way?
Our elected officials should not be able to come and go as they please if our sons and daughters are risking their lives for them. Hopefully, implementation of a law like this would give our government a little more incentive to get these important issues resolved diplomatically and not jump into a crisis whenever they feel like it.
