St. Charles fire damages vehicle

St. Charles Fire Department officials are continuing to investigate a Friday night car fire that caused an estimated $15,000 damage to a Ford Explorer.

No injuries were reported during the blaze at 1814 Via Veneto Drive.

Firefighters were called to the scene of the fire at 5:43 p.m. They brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

Officials said the blaze was contained to the Ford Explorer, which was inside an unattached garage, officials said. The garage and a nearby house weren't damaged.

The origin of the fire is unknown but isn't considered suspicious, officials said.

St. Charles was assisted by the Geneva and Batavia fire departments.
