Students to take part in Trike-A-Thon
A Trike-A-Thon event benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be at 10 a.m. Friday at The Goddard School, 2496 Bushwood Drive, off Randall Road and north of I-90, Elgin.
Students who participate in the event will help raise funds for the world's premier pediatric cancer research center. These funds will help St. Jude in its ongoing fight against childhood cancer and other diseases.
Families will be asking their friends and neighbors to support this event by raising funds for their child's participation in the Trike-A-Thon. Sponsors can donate money based on the number of laps a child rides or a flat participation fee.
"Our goal in holding this event is to help the children of the world who are stricken with diseases like cancer, AIDS, sickle cell disease and other catastrophic diseases," said Sheryl Nelson, coordinator of the event.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a world leader in the fight against these diseases, and they have made great progress thanks to people who participate in and donate to events like Trike-A-Thon.

No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.
