Apartment fire in Palatine
Firefighters quickly extinguished an apartment fire in Palatine Sunday afternoon, according to fire department officials. A fire on the 600 block of East Constitution Drive - causing an estimated $15,000 to $18,000 worth of damage - was called in at 4:35 p.m., said Capt. James Mayer. The apartment was not occupied at the time of the fire and no one was injured. "It was put out very quickly," Mayer said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said.
