Lake Michigan kayaker missing

Authorities searched for several hours on Sunday night for a missing kayaker in Lake Michigan.

According to the Lake County Sheriff's Department, a call came in around 5:47 p.m. from the U.S. Coast Guard, reporting a kayak had been found in the water, about 400 yard offshore from Waukegan Harbor.

Officials say a man in his 40s is believed to be missing. A team using sonar equipment was trying to locate the man, who was alone.
