New clinic celebrates by donating money
Wheeling's Healthy Trust Medical Care Center donated part of the proceeds from school physicals to celebrate its grand opening last month.
The center's owners, doctors Leonid Shvartsman and Boris Gurevich, have a practice at Devon and California avenues in Chicago and opened a satellite office in Wheeling some time ago.
After outgrowing it, they opened the new clinic at 342 S. Milwaukee Ave. with 10 doctors and 40 support staff to provide immediate care, primary care, and school and company physicals.
Healthy Trust donated 10 percent of the cost of the traditional school physical examination to each student's school. Funds were sent to a central funding pool at District 21 and directly to Wheeling High School.
Center doctors conducted more than 75 school physicals, including four pre-employment physicals for individuals in District 214.
In addition, Healthy Trust Center hired Clearbrook, an Arlington Heights-based not-for-profit agency that serves children and adults with developmental disabilities, to deliver door-hanger advertising messages to some 3,000 homes surrounding the center's site.
