Severed feet found near hospital

MATTESON -- The Cook County sheriff's department is investigating the discovery of two severed human feet found in a south suburban Chicago roadway.

The Cook County medical examiner's office says the feet found near a hospital in Matteson had recently been cut.

Officials say the feet appear to belong to a white male. No other body parts have been found, and there was no information available about the victim.

A shoe was found near the feet, but no other clothing has been recovered.

An autopsy is scheduled for this weekend.
