Avani Yoga to hold night of music with world musicians

From 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 18, Avani Yoga, located in the Highland Park Hospital Health and Fitness Center, 1501 Busch Parkway, in Buffalo Grove, will hold a musical Kirtan event of singing, chanting and exotic instrumentation with Beny and Heather Wertheimer, artists who travel and entertain worldwide. The cost is $15 prepay or $18 at the door. All are welcome, including children.

Wertheimer is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who draws on her love of music and yoga to lead Kirtans. Her debut CD was named as one of the top 10 albums of 2004 by New Age Retailer and has played on radio stations nationwide. Award-winning songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Beny has toured and recorded with various artists including Steely Dan, Carlos Santana, Paul Winter and Japanese flute master GS Sachdev.
