Ignatius wrong to blame U.S. for ills
The column by David Ignatius titled, "U.S. must recognize the role dignity plays in all foreign affairs" is another attempt to blame the U.S. for all the major crises in the world.
It can be rebuffed very easily with two names: Japan and Germany have been occupied by the U. S. since the end of World War II, during which time the two countries absorbed many of our ways while still preserving their own identities.
Another reason why this article doesn't tell the truth is the millions of immigrants that live in the U. S. today. This is a nation of immigrants who are absorbed by the American culture and standard of living without diminishing their dignity.
So the fact that we preach our democratic values for own future defense doesn't mean that other countries lose their own values. We don't impose our ways like the Taliban does.
