Bailing out Chicago transit systems nuts

I am very much against a bailout from Springfield of the transportation system for Chicago and the surrounding area. Most of the time when I see a Pace bus, there are anywhere from zero to two people riding on it. That is a pretty expensive means of conveyance.

In business, jobs are lost and costs are cut until the company becomes viable once again. There should be increases in fares and cuts in service to make public transportation pay for itself.

Those of us who drive have seen our fuel costs at least double in the past two years and there is no talk of a bailout for this segment of the population.
