Club lunch will raise funds for scholarships
Enzo Incandela, a noted entertainer, singer and DJ, will perform at the Elgin Woman's Club annual scholarship benefit luncheon on Saturday at the Elgin Country Club, 2575 Weld Road, Elgin.
His performance will delight the audience with an afternoon of musical entertainment.
According to Fern Risley, club president, the program promises to be a wonderful afternoon of music for everyone who attends.
Proceeds from this event will help fund the club's scholarships for Elgin Area School District U-46 high schools.
The social hour begins at 11 a.m. The luncheon is at noon, with the program to follow.
Tickets for the benefit are $40 each and may be purchased by calling the EWC hotline at (847) 622-3614.
The club extends an invitation to all women in the area to join for this fundraising event. Seating is limited and valet parking will be available at the country club.
The club was organized 120 years ago, and as its first project, founded Sherman Hospital in a house at North and Channing streets in Elgin.
Since then, the club has supported hundreds of local projects including yearly scholarships to students. The club maintains a strong relationship with the hospital it founded more than a century ago.
