Briefs: Dist. 120 plans for future
Nearly 100 Mundelein High School District 120 residents and staff members participated last week in the first of seven long-range planning discussions. While the topic of the meeting was general, future talks will have specific agendas. A Nov. 29 meeting will focus on facilities; Jan. 24 will focus on academics; Feb. 21 will focus on programs; March 13 on finance; April 17 on future needs; and a May 8 session will review all the recommendations. Charity donations sought
Stevenson High School is accepting donations for its 23rd annual Give-A-Thon, a charity drive that aids more than 1,000 people each December. Money and new toys are welcome, as are large, clear, heavy-duty plastic bags that will be used to carry gifts to families. Bear of a fundraiser
Join former Chicago Bears wide receiver Glen Kozlowski and Lake County Clerk Willard Helander for the first Lake County "Breakfast with a Bear" fundraiser Nov. 14. The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m. at the county administration building, 18 N. County St., Waukegan. Proceeds benefit the Lake County Cares Workplace Giving Campaign, which helps county residents through a variety of charitable organizations, including the United Way of Lake County and its member agencies. Breakfast will be served for a donation of $25 per person. Seating is limited to 45 people. Call (847) 377-2312.
