Cubs + '80s song = World Series championship?

Should the Cubs go with Prince's "Let's go Crazy" -- or another '80s song?

An '80s pop anthem can take you places.

The Bulls used Alan Parson Project's 1982 hit "Eye in the Sky" to introduce their championship teams, and that other Chicago baseball team didn't stop believin' in Journey's 1981 hit until they had a World Series trophy.

"Go, Cubs, Go" is a fine '80s song, but it was no hit (although, it's a big improvement over the tiresome and inappropriate "Get Down Tonight," by KC and the Sunshine Band which used to be played at Wrigley Field).

We searched through the '80s pop music archives in search of a tune the Cubs could adopt for the post-season. The possibilities were endless, but we narrowed them down to 10:

1. "Money Changes Everything," by Cyndi Lauper

2. "Rock This Town," by Stray Cats

3. "Believe it or Not," by Joey Scarbury

4. "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," by Starship

5. "Everybody Have Fun Tonight," by Wang Chung

6. "The Best of Times," by Styx

7. "I'm So Excited," by The Pointer Sisters

8. "Let's Go Crazy," by Prince

9. "Let's Go All the Way," by Sly Fox

10. "The Best," by Tina Turner

There's no doubt the Cubs are "Gonna Make You Sweat." But if they choke in the playoffs, just sing along with Whitney Houston: "Didn't We Almost Have it All?"
