Barrington Park District notes

Arts and crafts, wine tasting: The Barrington Park District presents its sixth annual Showcase of Arts and Crafts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Langendorf Park, 235 Lions Drive, Barrington.

This year's event will feature over 55 juried exhibitors and a wine tasting from noon to 3 p.m. on the upper level, hosted by the Wine Discount Center in Barrington. Parking and admission are free.

Smokin' T' Bar-B-Que will be on site with their pulled pork and chicken sandwiches and ribs, along with pastries from the Fraternite Notre Dame and candies by Riverside Chocolate Factory.

Returning artists include Virginia Bruns, Heide Carlini, Greg Cunningham, Irena Farejowicz, Allison Gawor, John Hennessey, Liza Hollis, Don and Pat Jansen, Lisa Kleppinger, Jessica Lynch, Betty Mackill, Gayle Manisco, Geri Meyer, Carolina Morrison, Anita Peters, Chris Robinson, Debbie Rummel, Dianne Schmitt, Darrell Walk, Adrienne Williams, and Niki Zeman.

There will be a selection of holiday, jewelry and artwork for shoppers. Also featured will be Van Johnson -- "The Copper King," David Farber and Kristen Neubert -- nature and wildlife photography, and Jeanne Rager and Carol Richardson-O'Brien -- watercolors and oil paintings.
