Travelers take 2nd at World Series
The 11U Elk Grove Travelers took second place at the Continental Amateur Baseball Association World Series with a tournament record over the 10-day series of 7-3. This team had many come-from-behind wins in this tournament that really displayed their fire and determination.
Under the strong leadership of Manager Mike Fox, this team showed that they were not going to accept anything less than playing in the championship game.
Robert Fox and Billy Grzelak were selected to a 15-player all-tournament team selected from over 300 players at the tournament. Joey Ranallo was selected from the tournament to receive the Gold Glove award. Billy Grzelak was selected from the tournament as All-Tournament Pitcher.
The Elk Grove Travelers over the course of four seasons have earned a record of 152-37-1 and have been the champions of 13 tournaments. The Elk Grove Travelers play their regular season games in the Mid Suburban Baseball League and along with various tournaments during the year, they will be heading to Cooperstown next July.
