Baseball

Heat tryouts: Heat Baseball, based in Hoffman Estates, has scheduled tryouts for 1 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 21 at High Point Park, 1730 Glenlake Road, Hoffman Estates. The team is seeking college-bound juniors and seniors from the northwest and surrounding suburbs. Players should arrive 30 minutes early for sign-in. Basketball

Eagles tryouts: The Lakes Junior Eagles Girls Travel Basketball program and Boys Travel Basketball program will hold tryouts for girls and boys in fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade who live within the borders of Lakes Community High School.

Depending on turnout, fifth and sixth grade may be combined. If selected, the fee is approximately $325 for all grade levels.

• Girls tryouts on Saturday will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for fifth and sixth grade, 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. for seventh grade, and 4:30 to 6 p.m. for eighth grade at Lakes Community High School, 1600 Eagle Way, Lake Villa.

Girls tryouts on Wednesday will be from 6 to 7 p.m. for fifth and sixth grade, 7 to 8 p.m. for seventh grade, and 8 to 9 p.m. for eighth grade at Palombi Middle School, 133 McKinley Ave., Lake Villa.

• Boys tryouts on Saturday and Sunday will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for fifth and sixth grades, 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. for seventh grade, and 4:30 to 6 p.m. for eighth grade at Lakes Community High School, 1600 Eagle Way, Lake Villa.
