U.S. must follow international law

I write because the Bush administration once again is seeking to make the administration, the U.S. military and the corporate mercenary armies operating in Iraq and around the world immune to any scrutiny or limits on their conduct.

The United States needs to play by the same rules as the rest of the world. If the Geneva Conventions or other aspects of international law are good enough for everyone else, why not the United States?

If Bush and his cronies have broken the law, why should they not be subject to prosecution like others before them -- Slobodan Milosevic, Saddam Hussein, Adolf Eichmann and others?

I am not saying that they are guilty of war crimes or other violations of international law. but why are they trying to have Congress pass laws giving them immunity, as if U.S. law supersedes international law?

Makes one think they might be worried about ending up in a small cell someplace after they leave office.
