Natural gas line breaks in north Naperville
Construction workers broke a four-inch natural gas line this afternoon near the intersection of Diehl Road and Freedom Commons Drive in north Naperville.
Traffic was rerouted in the area, but no major roads were closed, Naperville Fire Department officials said.
The break occurred around 2 p.m. and workers building roads and stores along Freedom Commons Drive were evacuated as a precaution. Nicor repair crews were notified and dispatched to the area, company officials said.
