Veterans appreciate 9/11 golf salute
I would like to thank John Babcock and the Prairie IsleGolf Course, Prairie Grove, for the Veterans' Salute Golf Tournament Extravaganza it provided to military veterans on the anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.
I would also like to thank the supporters, especially Patty Cunningham, who lost her son in Vietnam, as well as her father in World War II.
All deserve some recognition for giving the opportunity to veterans to enjoy this free event in their honor (golf, golf carts, breakfast, lunch, gifts, etc.)
One of the most important things donated was the little brown bags of homemade cookies decorated by school kids that said "God Bless Our Veterans." This was really very special. Veterans were so appreciative.
I wish more people had this attitude regarding veterans, especially those who gave their lives for their country. Thanks again for the great salute.
